Kate Jackson was the bees knees. She was my favorite “angel” for her leadership role as a character.

She was the first one Aaron Spelling chose... and she named the show (but was never acknowledged). Fun fact: she directed two episodes of Scarecrow and Mrs. King. Still going strong to this day, BTW.

Wow! So accomplished and talented. Of course she didn’t get the credit she deserves— nothing new under the sun. But I’m glad you shared these fun facts. Makes me love her even more.

I loved this show! Like Steve’s comment above, some of the nuanced themes went over my head. No matter; it was fun to watch.

Excellent piece, Amy. I remember watching that back in the 80s when I was a teenager, but the parallels to the politics at the time, certainly alluded me back then. Reading this made me think of a show that is amongst my all-time favorites, The Americans.

Thank you, Steve. I was a fan ‘back in the day,’ but upon binging the series recently, it has definitely struck a chord. Also, you have my vote for The Americans. Firm favorite - also I watched both seasons of The Diplomat on Netflix (with Keri Russell). Looking forward to Season 3 when it airs.

I need to watch The Diplomat. My TV viewing has dropped off considerably the past year or two so my “want to watch” list keeps growing.

I very rarely go “all in” on a TV show. The Americans was one of ‘em. I was genuinely bummed when it ended.

Another case of chemistry on screen that paid off in real life for Rhys and Russell!
