Sadly, Carnival of Light, Chasing Rainbows, and Commonwealth remain in the vaults…thank goodness for bootlegs!

Curating their oeuvre and managing their legacy, including curating their oeuvre, is more than The Anthology, and is much more than only their music. The album nr 1. was essential in keeping the name alive. Since then, mostly popularity have been going downhill. Although they succeeded in re-releasing their entire music catalogue, and the releases were often small or big events. The deal that The Beatles have with Disney+ is essential, and mostly of Macca's making, and bringing out old material in new formats and for the sake of marketing adding some new stuff. The Anthology had to come out again in the new media world, so that would include all of the formats (book, tv-series, music) to be republished. We do not know whether the book is a plain re-issue or a new edition.

What this release shows is that The Beatles leave out serious attention in curating their musical output, in a way that makes sense from a musical and historical perspective.
