All Together Now
Setting up the next 'cartref tudalen' for Write Hear: Pop Culture & The Beatles

As Write Hear sets about to celebrate, penetrate, radiate, imitate, indicate and syndicate the narrative that links pop culture and The Beatles, so too must it continue to pull at the bubblegum-stretching pathways that stick us together with books, music, video, theatre and art.
This gateway serves as an introduction to who I am, what I do, and where we go:
Book Review: Where I construct a metaphorical Venn diagram – music studies, humanities, biographies & autobiographies of musicians and personalities.
Alternating Currents: In another lifetime, I was a music journalist hailing from Boston, MA, who embarked on a journey into what was then called the “alternative” music scene. Before the internet existed, my writing was for Metronome Magazine, a monthly newsprint that circulated in the New England area. I have a few of those halcyon days housed under this throwback category.
The Beatles: ‘Nuff said. Don’t get me started, or we will never finish anything in this lifetime.
Wales Unveiled: One of my newest interests is two-fold: as someone who embraces all things Welsh, you can find my reviews here. I’m also utilizing this space to house my studies on Port Talbot native Michael Sheen, showcasing his theatre roles and lesser-known work. In tandem, I also collaborate on ‘The Sheenant Chronicles’ with Patricia Browning of A Tennantcy To Act and her archival studies on Scottish actor David Tennant.
Music: I generally cover new releases from indie and legacy artists & bands, with an affinity for generational or themed compilations and anthologies from my great friends at Cherry Red Records. Occasionally, I also take up Q&As with artists, where we can stretch our legs and delve into the topics at hand or find answers to some burning questions from the past.
The door is continuously opening up to new and exciting ventures. Let’s do this.
"The Beatles: ‘Nuff said. Don’t get me started or we will never finish anything in this lifetime."
Just waving a hand to say, yep yep yep.
My first album given to me by my big brother when I was just a few feet tall was Yellow Submarine! Also tell your friends at Cherry Records to pay the bands. Most of the time they release nifty compilations but are notorious for not paying the artists. Tell them Chris from the Flamin' Groovies said so...thanks!
